Podcast editing services near Elizabeth, NJ

Who edits podcasts near Elizabeth?

Ruah Creative House is a faith-driven creative studio at 30 Union St, Suite 7, Elizabeth, NJ 07202. We edit audio and video podcasts for churches, coaches, speakers, and people on a mission, here and across the US.

How fast is it?

Larger projects (full-length edits and long-form video) come back by Friday, when we receive your footage by Monday. For a weekly show we set the hand-in day and the delivery day together on the call.

What you get

What a podcast edit covers, and what comes with it

More people are listening than ever. In Edison Research's Infinite Dial 2026, 58% of Americans age 12 and older had consumed a podcast in the last month, an all-time high, and 45% had in the last week. The same study found that 57% had both listened to and watched a podcast, so most shows now need an audio version and a video version of every episode.

What a podcast edit usually covers

  • Cutting the false starts, long pauses, and filler words
  • Evening out the levels, so a guest isn't quieter than the host
  • Cleaning up room noise, hum, and mouth clicks where the recording allows
  • Adding your intro, outro, and music
  • Tightening the conversation so the point lands sooner
  • For video: switching between cameras and matching the color from shot to shot
  • Captions and a thumbnail frame for each episode
  • Short clips cut in the shapes each platform uses

What comes with it

Partnerships

Kingdom Content Partner and the Full Breath Partnership include what our Pricing page lists for every package:

  • A dedicated ministry-minded editor
  • Multi-format delivery
  • SRT captions on all content
  • Thumbnail frames and post copy suggestions
  • Your brand kit kept the same from episode to episode
  • Standard revisions

Single episodes and seasons

One episode, a backlog, or a season are scoped one at a time. We set what you get on the call: the finished lengths, audio and video versions, how many clips per episode, captions, and the rounds of changes.

Who we edit for

Podcast editing for shows with a purpose

Churches with a podcast

A sermon podcast, a pastor's conversation show, or a midweek teaching. We edit the episode and cut the moments that can reach someone who wasn't in the room on Sunday.

Kingdom Content Partner

Coaches and speakers

Your podcast already holds your best thinking. We shape each episode into a long version and short clips that still sound like you, so the people you're called to serve can find you.

The Full Breath Partnership

People on a mission in Elizabeth

Nonprofits, community organizations, podcasters, and businesses built around a cause in and around Elizabeth and Union County. Record anywhere, or in our room on Union St, and send us the files.

Already have the episode recorded and only need it cut? Our video editing services page covers one-off edits of any recording.

How it works

From your recording to a published episode

  1. 01

    A free call with Eric

Tell us about your show: who it's for, how often you publish, and where it's posted. The call is with Eric Muñoz Jr., our founder. Message first. Then the creative work.

  2. 02

    Send your recordings

Upload the audio and video files from your setup online. One camera, two, or a remote recording all work. If you're close by, you can record in our room in Elizabeth instead.

  3. 03

An editor who listens to the whole episode

Your editor hears the full conversation before making a cut, so the edit keeps what your message hangs on, not only the loudest moment.

  4. 04

The first cut, then your notes

You hear and see the episode and tell us what to change. Partnerships include standard revisions. For a single project, we agree on the rounds of changes on the call.

  5. 05

The episode and its clips, ready to post

You get the full episode in the versions we agreed on, plus the clips. Partnerships also come with captions and thumbnail frames.

Before you hire

How to choose a podcast editor

Ask every editor you talk to the same 8 questions, us included. The answers make quotes easy to compare.

  1. 1Can I hear an episode you edited that sounds like my show? Ask for one close to your format.
  2. 2Who actually edits my episodes, and will they listen to the whole recording?
  3. 3Is it a basic cleanup, or will you make choices about what to cut and what to keep?
  4. 4What's included: levels, noise cleanup, intro and outro, captions, clips, and the video version?
  5. 5How many rounds of changes are included, and how do I send notes?
  6. 6When do I hand in, and when does the episode come back? Get both days in writing.
  7. 7Do you price per episode, per month, or by the hour, and what would change the price?
  8. 8Who owns the finished files and the project files?

Signs to keep looking

  • No finished episodes you can listen to or watch
  • A price before anyone has asked how long your episodes are or where they're posted
  • Nobody can tell you who will edit your show
  • Hand-in day, delivery day, or file ownership left vague
  • A promise of downloads, followers, or going viral

A clean recording makes a cleaner edit, but an editor should tell you what your files can and can't fix.

What to send your editor

  • The original audio and video files from your recording setup (not a screen recording of them)
  • A separate track for each person, if your setup records them
  • Your intro and outro, if you already use one
  • Your logo, fonts, and colors
  • Who the show is for and the 1 thing you want a listener to do next
  • Where each episode is posted, so we cut the right shapes
  • Your publishing day, and whether it's fixed
Planning your budget

What podcast editing costs, and what shapes it

Buzzsprout's June 2024 list of 15 editing and production companies shows per-episode starting prices from $70 to $250, and some companies on it charge by the month instead, from $199 to $1,199. Those are Buzzsprout's figures for other companies, not a Ruah quote.

Ruah doesn't list a set price for a single episode. Our partnership prices are on our Pricing page, and we'll size your show with you on the call.

  • How long each episode runs
  • Audio only, or audio and video
  • How clean the recording is
  • How many short clips you want from each episode
  • Captions, thumbnails, and graphics
  • How soon you need it back

Your options, side by side

Editing it yourself

Free tools exist. Audacity is free, open-source audio software, and the host of the top result for this search said they spend 2 to 4 hours on a basic edit of a 28-minute weekly show. The cost is your evenings.

A freelancer from a marketplace

Good for a one-off job when you can brief well and check the work yourself. Ask the 8 questions above before you pick, and expect to manage the timing and the notes.

A high-volume editing shop

Fast and priced per episode or per month, with a set menu. A good fit when the show is already running well and you only need the cleanup done. Ask who edits it and whether they hear the whole episode.

A creative studio like Ruah

A team that starts with your message, edits each episode with that message in mind, and can also cut the clips, keep your look the same, and sit down with you in Elizabeth when you want to.

“God called me to ministry when I was 12 years old leading up to over 25 years of ministry. Today I get to bring that same ministry mindset, plus a creative team, to churches and leaders trying to reach people outside their walls.”

Over 25 years Eric has led teams in ministry and in the marketplace and trained hundreds of volunteers. He knows what it is to carry a vision with too few hands.

Is this a fit for you?

A good fit

  • A church with a sermon podcast or a pastor's conversation show
  • A coach or speaker with a podcast already recording, who wants a team on the editing
  • A person on a mission in and around Elizabeth with a show to start or keep going
  • Anyone who wants the edit to start with the message

Probably someone else

  • Wedding videos
  • Live streaming or AV setup
  • Shopping for gear advice

If that's you, there's no shame in it. We'd just rather point you in the right direction than take on work we don't do.

Questions

Podcast editing questions we hear

How much do podcast editing services cost?

It depends on the length of the episode, whether it's audio only or audio and video, how clean the recording is, how many clips you want cut from it, and how fast you need it back. Buzzsprout's June 2024 list of editing and production companies shows per-episode starting prices from $70 to $250, with some companies charging by the month instead. Ruah doesn't list a set price for a single episode. Our partnership prices are on our Pricing page, and we'll size your show with you on the call.

Is it too late to start a podcast in 2026?

The audience is still growing. In Edison Research's Infinite Dial 2026, 58% of Americans age 12 and older had consumed a podcast in the last month, an all-time high, and 45% had in the last week. A new show competes on whether it's worth someone's time, not on how early it started. A clear message and a clean edit are most of that.

Can ChatGPT create a podcast?

It can help you plan one: episode ideas, an outline, draft show notes, a list of questions for a guest. It can't sit in the room with you, and it can't decide which part of a real conversation carries your message. The recording and the editing still take people. If you want help deciding what to cut and what to keep, that's the part we do.

Is Audacity good for podcasting?

Audacity is free, open-source software for recording and editing audio, and its own site calls it the world's most popular free audio editor. If you're starting out with an audio-only show and have the time, it's a fair place to learn. It won't edit video, and the hours you spend in it are hours you're not spending on the conversation itself. Many hosts start there and hand the editing off once the show has a rhythm.

Do you edit video podcasts or only audio?

Both. Send us the audio, the camera files, or both, and tell us where the episode will be posted. We'll shape the full episode and the short clips in the sizes those platforms use. In Edison Research's Infinite Dial 2026, 57% of Americans age 12 and older had both listened to and watched a podcast, so most shows now need an audio version and a video version.

Do I have to record with you?

No. Most podcast editing happens on recordings you've already made, wherever you made them. Our room at 30 Union St in Elizabeth is set up for 2 people on camera, and clients record podcasts with us there now, so recording here is an option if you're close by. Book a call first and we'll work out which fits.

What do I send you?

The original audio and video files from your recording setup (not a screen recording of them), separate tracks for each person if you have them, your intro and outro if you already use one, your logo and colors, and a note on who the episode is for and where it'll be posted. We'll confirm the file list on the call.

How long does a podcast edit take?

Larger projects (full-length edits and long-form video) come back by Friday when we receive your footage by Monday. For a weekly show we set the hand-in day and the delivery day together on the call, so you know when each episode is coming back.

Can you cut short clips from each episode?

Yes. The clips come from the same edit, cut in the shapes each platform uses. Partnerships come with multi-format delivery, SRT captions on all content, and thumbnail frames, as our Pricing page lists. For a single project, we agree on how many clips you get per episode on the call.

What does a podcast editing partnership with Ruah include?

Every package on our Pricing page comes with a dedicated ministry-minded editor, multi-format delivery, SRT captions on all content, thumbnail frames and post copy suggestions, your brand kit kept the same from episode to episode, and standard revisions. Every partnership starts with a strategy month. If you'd rather start with one episode or one season, that's a single project, and we size it on the call.

Do I have to be near Elizabeth, NJ to work with you?

No. We're at 30 Union St, Suite 7, in Elizabeth, in Union County, and we serve clients across the US. Files are sent to us online. If you're nearby, you're welcome to come see the studio after your call.

You don't have to carry it alone anymore.

Tell us about your show and who it's for. We'll work out the right next step together.
